Cub Scouts enjoy new adventures while making new friends along the way. Their commitment is recognised by over thirty activity badges. As well as regular weekly meeting, Cub Scouts also enjoy activity days, weekend camps and pack holidays. Boys and girls:
- Go camping
- Play games
- Explore the outdoors
- Try adventurous activities – such as climbing, sailing and archery
- Meet people from their local community
- Experience the culture of other countries
- Keep themselves and others safe


Keswick Cub Scout Leader gains award on Scouting Roll of Honour.

It has just been announced in the Scout Association Roll of Honour that Bob Reader, Cub Scout Leader, has been awarded a Bar to his Silver Acorn. This award recognises his further specially distinguished service.
Bob has been in Scouting for a long time and held many different roles, and we are very lucky Bob decided to carry on his Scouting with 1st Keswick Scout Group.
Well done Bob, richly deserved.

Cubs attend Camp Castaway – St Johns

Day 1 of Cub Camp and the Flag has been designed and Scones made by the Cubs.
Firewood has been collected for tomorrow evening and I left them in peace watching a film with Hot Chocolate in hand.

Day 2 involved a Walk in the afternoon followed by a Camp Fire and Camp Songs in the evening.

Day 3 was a visit to Church in the morning and then after Sunday Lunch had been made and ate, the clean-up operation commenced.

Cub Pack A Leaders receive their 5 year certificate!

This group of Cub Pack A Leaders (Richard, Mike and Gillian) joined when Pack A was really struggling to find leaders. 5 years later and their own children have moved up the system leaving them to deliver Cub Programmes year on year.

Thanks to all of them for their commitment to the group, and hope we’ll see you back here in 5 years time!
